Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Recovery doesn’t have to mean putting your life on hold. Precision Recovery’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a structured, clinically supported component of our recovery plan that enables you to continue working and fulfilling family responsibilities while receiving high-level care. Through regular therapy, case management, and medical oversight, the IOP provides the tools and accountability you need to stay sober and move forward.

How the Intensive Outpatient Program Works

The Intensive Outpatient Program is part of your long-term recovery plan at Precision Recovery. It’s designed to help you build momentum in sobriety while still managing your responsibilities at home and work.

You’ll attend therapy and medical sessions three hours a day, three days a week, for eight weeks. During this time, you’ll work with therapists, medical providers, and case managers to address the root causes of addiction and build lasting change.

Sessions Focus On:

  • Managing cravings and emotional triggers.
  • Building accountability and structure.
  • Learning practical tools to support daily recovery.
  • Ongoing medical support and monitoring.

IOP is often the next step after Partial Hospitalization (PHP), helping you transition into everyday life without losing the support system recovery demands.

What Makes Our IOP Different

Most outpatient programs offer structure, but they don’t address the full picture. At Precision Recovery, our IOP is part of a broader, long-term recovery plan that combines clinical treatment, medical support, and legal strategy.

Here’s What Sets Our IOP Apart:

Integrated Medical and Psychological Care

Treatment isn’t just talk therapy. You’ll have access to medical interventions, including genetic testing, laboratory work, and non-addictive medications tailored to your specific needs.

Legal Advocacy Support

For participants facing felony DWI or other charges, we help your defense team demonstrate progress to the court. Our documentation, expert witness testimony, and ongoing reports often lead to reduced sentencing or alternatives to incarceration.

Real-Time Monitoring and Accountability

Using the CleanTrac app, we track attendance, location, and treatment progress. This adds transparency and helps build trust with the legal system.

This isn’t just a treatment phase, it’s a launchpad for long-term change.

What’s Included in the IOP?

The Intensive Outpatient Program at Precision Recovery is structured to provide consistent, focused support while helping you maintain stability in your day-to-day life. Each week, you’ll participate in a range of services designed to reinforce sobriety and address the physical, emotional, and behavioral aspects of addiction.

The Intensive Outpatient Therapy Includes:

  • Individual Therapy – Weekly one-on-one sessions to work through personal challenges and build emotional resilience.
  • Group Therapy – Connect with others in recovery, share experiences, and develop peer support.
  • Medical Support – Regular visits with providers to manage medications, monitor health, and track progress.
  • Case Management – Help with scheduling, legal documentation, and day-to-day coordination.
  • Toxicology Testing – Routine drug and alcohol screening to ensure accountability and demonstrate progress to the court when needed.
  • Legal Reporting and Documentation – Ongoing communication with attorneys, probation officers, and the court as part of your legal mitigation plan.

Each part of the IOP is designed to support both your recovery and your legal defense.

Who the Intensive Outpatient Program Helps

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed for people ready to commit to recovery while balancing real-life responsibilities. Whether you’re stepping down from a higher level of care or seeking meaningful support with flexibility, the IOP helps you strengthen progress and build lasting change.

The IOP is Right for You If:

  • You’re committed to recovery but need a flexible schedule.
  • You’ve completed a higher level of care, like PHP, and are ready for the next step.
  • You’re facing legal consequences and need to demonstrate documented progress to the court.
  • You want access to real treatment, not just compliance-based check-ins.

For many participants, IOP is where real change takes root. You’ll continue building structure, emotional awareness, and accountability, all while staying engaged in daily life.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Intensive Outpatient Program

Here are answers to some of the most common questions we hear about our IOP, including how it integrates with work, school, legal matters, and other phases of treatment. If you have additional questions or would like personalized guidance, our team is here to help you explore your options and determine the next steps.

Can I work or go to school while in the IOP?

Yes. The Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program is built to support people who need to continue working or attending school. We’ll help you find a schedule that works and offer documentation for medical leave, short-term disability, or employer accommodations if needed.

Is IOP enough, or will I need other treatment?

IOP is one phase of a longer recovery process. Most participants begin with Partial Hospitalization (PHP), then step down to IOP, followed by Supportive Outpatient and Continuing Care. Your treatment plan will depend on your progress and individual needs.

Will this help with my DWI case?

Yes. Our program is often used in legal defense for sentencing mitigation and plea agreements. We provide detailed reports, expert testimony, and real-time monitoring that demonstrate to the court that you’re taking recovery seriously.

Is this program covered by insurance?

In most cases, yes. We work with many insurance providers and offer financing plans to help cover any out-of-pocket costs. Our goal is to make recovery accessible without creating more financial stress.
